Frequently asked questions
Does a bot join my call?
No. Sidechained captures audio directly from your device. Nothing enters the meeting, nothing is visible to other participants, and no bot waits in a lobby. Following local recording laws, and letting people know you’re recording, is your responsibility.
How does it hear everyone on a call?
Sidechained listens through your device’s microphone, so it picks up your voice and whatever your speakers play. If you wear headphones, the other side of the call does not reach the microphone.
Will it work with my meeting software?
Yes. Because nothing joins the call, it works with Zoom, Meet, Teams, phone calls on speaker and in-person meetings.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Sidechained runs in your browser on phone or desktop. Apps for Chrome, Windows and Linux are also available.
